Apocryphal Hummingbird

There is a story that sometimes get recounted on this remote British Columbia island that at one time, though no one can say when, a hummingbird flew right into the face of a hiker, lodging its tiny, needle-like bill into her quivering eye. It is said the unfortunate woman had to walk some distance like this out of the forest before she could seek medical attention. What became of the hummingbird is not known.
